Donald Trump said he would have handled the Miss Universe mix-up a lot differently than Steve Harvey.
Harvey botched the announcement of the winner during the pageant Sunday night when he accidentally crowned Miss Colombia instead of Miss Philippines.
During an interview with the Today show Monday, the Republican front-runner weighed in on what he would have done.
“I’ll tell you what I think I’d do,” Trump said.”I think I’d make ’em a co-winner. It’d be very cool.”
“I would recommend that they go have a beautiful ceremony, which is good for the brand and good for Miss Universe, and do a co-winner.” (RELATED: Pageant Bans Miss Puerto Rico Because Of Anti-Muslim Comments)
Trump tweeted about what happened shortly before his interview.
“Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant,” he tweeted. “I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!”
