New York Knicks forward Cleanthony Early was shot and robbed in Queens early Wednesday morning.

After leaving a strip club around 4:15 a.m., three vehicles boxed in Early’s Uber, the New York Daily News reports. Four to six masked gunmen surrounded the car and demanded cash, phones and jewelry from both Early and his girlfriend before shooting Early in the right knee cap.

He was taken to nearby Elmhurst Hospital and his injury is currently in stable condition.

The Knicks released the following statement following the attack: “We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation. We will not comment any further until we receive more information.”
