The small-town Louisiana high school where two blonde, female English teachers were arrested for having sex with the same 16-year-old male student in 2014 now features a female teacher busted for having a lengthy sexual affair with a female student.
This week, sheriff’s deputies arrested Kimberly Naquin, a 26-year-old geography teacher at Destrehan High School in the New Orleans suburb of Destrehan, reports local Fox affiliate WVUE.
The unidentified student told investigators that her star-crossed lesbian love affair with Naquin began in September 2014 and endured until the end of this summer.
“A family member of a victim called us and wanted to speak to a deputy. That’s how we got it,” St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said, according to the Fox station. “We learned the arrestee, Ms. Naquin, was at a Beta Club convention in Lafayette with other students and teachers, and we sent detectives.”
In a statement obtained by New Orleans CBS affiliate WWL, a spokeswoman for the St. Charles Parish Public Schools said the school system has cooperated with law enforcement officials.
“The teacher has been suspended without pay in accordance with district policy and procedures pending the outcome of an investigation,” district director of public information said. “This is a personnel issue; therefore, no other information will be released at this time.”
Naquin, whose father is local school board president Dennis Naquin, posted a $75,000 bond in St. Charles Parish.
Her freedom was short-lived, however, because she also faces several related felony carnal knowledge charges for the long-lasting love affair in Jefferson Parish — the next parish over. She must post a $75,000 in Jefferson Parish as well.
The student with whom Naquin allegedly had the affair told investigators that the lesbian liaisons occurred in a classroom at Destrehan High, inside Naquin’s home, and in some other house in the area.
“The good news is we don’t believe any other students were involved,” Champagne, the St. Charles Parish sheriff, told WVUE.

The student, who has to be approaching 18 by now, allegedly engaged in the threesome with the teachers on a Friday night, after a high school football game (which Destrehan won handily, 41-7).
The teachers, Shelley Dufresne (then 33) and Rachel Respess (then 23) are still facing the very-slow wheels of Louisiana justice.
Dufresne was married at the time of the alleged threesome. She has three children. Her father is 29th Judicial District Judge Emile St. Pierre.
