Sen. [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore] says he “loves” Sarah Palin and “regardless of what she does in 2016, I will always be a big fan.”

Tuesday, Cruz tweeted a response to walk back comments his communications director Rick Tyler made on CNN “New Day” earlier Tuesday that if Palin endorsed Donald Trump “it would be a blow to Sarah Palin because Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause and if and if she was going to endorse Donald Trump sadly, she would be endorsing someone please help those held progressive views all their life.” (RELATED: Cruz Spokesman Slams Sarah Palin Ahead Of Her Possible Trump Endorsement [VIDEO])

Conducting damage control, Cruz tweeted, “I love @SarahPalinUSA Without her support, I wouldn’t be in the Senate. Regardless of what she does in 2016, I will always be a big fan.”

Trump has said that he has a “major announcement” set to take place in Iowa later today and the speculation is that Palin could be endorsing Trump. (RELATED: Donald Trump Teases ‘Major Announcement’ In Iowa)
