The University of Minnesota suspended three players for Sunday’s game against Illinois and now it appears the reason is because of an alleged sex tape.

Gophers players Nate Mason, Kevin Dorsey and Dupree McBrayer were benched by head coach Richard Pitino, who only initially said, “With the privilege of being a member of the University of Minnesota basketball program there are expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable, and they have failed to do so.”

According to Deadspin, it appears that the reason the three players were suspended is a bit more nefarious than just a standard violation of team rules. Dorsey posted two now-deleted videos on Twitter, which allegedly showed him and another man engaged in sexual acts with a female. (RELATED: Wisconsin Freshman Throws Down Insane Windmill Dunk)

Following the loss to Illinois, Pitino seemed to be more upset with the actions of his players than not winning the game.

“Today was unfortunately not as much about wins and losses but more about the culture of our program. It was about making sure our guys understand that this thing is bigger than just basketball and we’re going to do what we believe is right,” he said(RELATED: Duke Star Appears To Intentionally Trip Opponent [VIDEO])
