Florida Gov. Rick Scott is planning to endorse Donald Trump, according to Fox News’s Bret Baier.

Baier attributed the news to “two sources” Tuesday night.

Despite the report, a spokeswoman for the Florida governor told the Wall Street Journal Tuesday evening that Scott was in Tallahassee and “not endorsing Donald Trump.”

Scott’s endorsement would come at a critical time, just two weeks before the Florida primary — the first winner-take-all state.

The endorsement would directly undermine one of Rubio’s last, best chances to gain traction in the Republican primary.

UPDATE: At 9:48 PM EST, Baier tweeted that the governor’s office has told him “that there is no endorsement tonight said to be in Tallahassee.”
