Following the Taliban’s Easter Sunday bombing of a Christian gathering, GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said only he can stop the scourge of radical Islam.

Trump sent out a Tweet Sunday, saying, “Another radical Islamic attack, this time in Pakistan, targeting Christian women & children. At least 67 dead, 400 injured. I alone can solve.”

A suicide bomber from a splinter group of the Pakistani Taliban specifically targeted Christians in Lahore, killing a shockingly high number of women and children, who were celebrating Easter in a park.

“The target was Christians,” said Ehsanullah Ehsan, spokesman for the splinter group. “We want to send this message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that we have entered Lahore.”

“He can do what he wants but he won’t be able to stop us. Our suicide bombers will continue these attacks,” Ehsan said.

The death toll is expected to rise because of the seriousness of the injuries.

Christians comprise only 2 percent of the population in Pakistan, but that didn’t stop radical Muslims from going out of their way to target the religious group.

This isn’t the first time a suicide blast has hit the Christian community. Suicide bombers in March 2015 killed 14 people by setting off two bombs in the Nishtar Colony. The Pakistan Taliban warned that more attacks would soon follow. It looks like the terror group has delivered on its promise.

Back in 2013, another suicide bomber hit a church, killing more than 80 people.

The international community condemned the attacks.

“This cowardly act in what has long been a scenic and placid park has killed dozens of innocent civilians and left scores injured,” National Security Council spokesman Ned Price said, according to CNN.

The Australian government explicitly acknowledged the attack’s significance, given that it occurred on Easter.

“As Christians worldwide celebrate Easter, a shocking terrorist attack in Lahore, Pakistan, reminds us that terrorism is a global scourge,” Australian Minister Julie Bishop said.

“The Australian Government condemns this horrific act that has killed dozens of civilians, including children, and expresses our condolences to the people of Pakistan and its government at this time.”
