Today is the start of the 2016 MLB season which means it’s a great time to remember when George W. Bush threw out the first pitch in the World Series after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Game three of the world series between the New York Yankees and Arizona Diamondbacks was played in New York only a month after the attacks that claimed thousands of lives. (SLIDESHOW: Shortstop’s Stunners: Celebrate The Women Who Have Been In Derek Jeter’s Life)
