The sports site Deadspin isn’t happy Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney cashed in big time after a 13-1 season and a trip to the national championship game.

Swinney got a six-year contract extension for $31.75 million following his incredible season at Clemson and a high level of success throughout the years. (SLIDESHOW: Celebrate The Return Of Baseball With Beautiful Women Who Love Baseball Players)

Deadspin reported the par-for-the-course news with an article titled, “Entitled Asshole Gets Undeserved Raise,” written by Tom Ley.

Ley seems upset that Swinney isn’t a fan of paying students to play sports in college. The Clemson head coach said a couple years ago, “We try to teach our guys, use football to create the opportunities, take advantage of the platform and the brand and the marketing you have available to you. But as far as paying players, professionalizing college athletics, that’s where you lose me. I’ll go do something else, because there’s enough entitlement in this world as it is.” (RELATED: These Sexy Female Celebrities All Dated Or Married Big Time Athletes [SLIDESHOW])

Pretty clear that Ley doesn’t understand the simple economics behind the fact college football coaches at dominant programs make big salaries because they generate lots of revenue.

Gawker, the parent company of Deadspin, might not exist much longer after they lost a lawsuit to Hulk Hogan for well over $100 million for publishing a sex tape of Hogan without his consent. (RELATED: Hulk Hogan Body Slams Gawker, Gets $115 Million Judgment)
