Ron Nehring — [crscore]Ted Cruz[/crscore]’s national campaign spokesman — downplayed the effect a Donald Trump victory in Tuesday’s New York GOP primary would have on the remainder of the election.

“Donald Trump is going to have a good night in New York,” Nehring told MSNBC’s Tamron Hall. “That’s kind of been baked into the equation. Everybody knows that. That’s no surprise.”

“Even the insufferable John Kasich was able to win his own state,” he continued. “Now, he’s lost every state before and every state, you know, since as a result.”

Back on March 15, Kasich won the Ohio primary — his only victory of the 2016 election — by earning 57 percent of the Republican vote. (RELATED: Kasich Wins OH Primary)
