A filmmaker working on a documentary about Prince’s last days says the people he’s talked to insist that he had a will, a new report claims.

On Wednesday, Ian Halperin told the Wrap, that contrary to what has been reported and Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson had filed, the singer might have a will and it could be in Canada.

Halperin said Prince “formerly owned a home” in Toronto and the singer had a “relationship” with a woman there.

According to the report, he also told them “friends and family” that might not benefit from Prince’s will could be taking steps to keep its’ existence hidden.

“He was one of the shrewdest people in the entertainment industry,” Halperin said. Adding that someone like that would have taken steps to “settle his affairs.”

The filmmaker also suggested that the Minneapolis judge’s decision to put off “filling of inheritance claim” should be extended from four months to a year to allow time to find his will.

Prince died at his Paisley Park home on April 21. Authorities conducted an autopsy, but cause of death has yet to be released. Multiple reports say that Percocet was found in his system, though it is unknown what link if any it has in his death. Toxicology reports were expected to take weeks for results to come back.
