White House press secretary Josh Earnest used the cover of the First Amendment to get out of commenting on Donald Trump’s tweet about the dismal May job report.

In an interview on CNBC’s “Squawk On The Street” on Friday, Earnest said, “Listen, it’s not uncommon for me to be asked about tweets from the presumptive Republican nominee. He’s certainly entitled to avail himself of the First Amendment and share his views.”

Trump used is Twitter account to take this shot at Obama: “Terrible jobs report just reported. Only 38,000 jobs added. Bombshell!”

Last month, after Trump tweeted the now infamous taco bowl on Cinco de Mayo, to which Obama commented, “As a general rule, I don’t pay attention to Mr. Trump’s tweets. And I think that’ll be true, I think for the next six months. So you can just file that one.”
