Denis O’Hare said that coming out of the closet as a Hillary Clinton supporter was harder in Hollywood than when he came out as a gay man.

On Wednesday night, Chris Matthews asked the “Good Wife” actor and “Milk” star if it’s okay out in Hollywood to be pro-Hillary.

“You know I had to come out of the closet as a gay man, ” O’Hare said. “I had to come out of the closet as an atheist. But you know coming out of the closet as a Hillary supporter is harder.”

Matthews pressed him to explain and asked if it’s because Sanders is bigger in the Golden State.

“Well you know it’s not that he’s bigger,” he added. “I love Bernie I am not against Bernie. Seriously I love some of the things he says, they [Sanders supporters] are passionate to the point of…you have to be careful how you approach them.”

“You have to kind of say I love Bernie,” he continued. “I’m not picking a fight with Bernie. But [whispers] I voted for Hillary.”
