Super Bowl MVP and Denver Broncos superstar Von Miller is singing the praises of his former Texas A&M teammate Johnny Manziel.

“I want to be that consistent friend. I see the reports [of Manziel’s issues], but when I see him, I feel like he’s at peace. I’ll be the last guy who ever stops being friends with Johnny. Life is what’s most important there. I still think he’ll be a great NFL football player. But life is about more than just football,” Miller told Sports Illustrated. (SLIDESHOW: This Gorgeous Olympian Loves To Show Off Lots Of Skin)

Manziel has had a rocky offseason that has mostly consisted of partying. It’s unclear if the former Heisman-winner will ever play professional football again after being cut by the Cleveland Browns.
