According to The New York Times, Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski “will no longer be working with the campaign.”

“The Donald J. Trump Campaign for President, which has set a historic record in the Republican Primary having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign,” Hope Hicks, Trump’s spokeswoman said in a statement.

“The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication and we wish him the best in the future.”

In an interview on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom” on Monday, Barry Bennett, a Trump adviser said that the campaign’s convention manager Paul Manafort is now “totally in charge” of the campaign.

Lewandowski has faced scrutiny for his handling of the campaign. In March, former Breitbart News Reporter Michelle Fields claimed that Lewandowski “grabbed me tightly … and yanked me down.” (RELATED: Reporter Posts Photo Of Bruise After Saying Trump Campaign Manager ‘Yanked Me Down’)

Ultimately, the Florida prosecutor decided not to prosecute Lewandowski.

After the news of Lewandowski’s removal, Michael Caputo, a senior adviser to Trump tweeted an image from “The Wizard of Oz,” with the caption, “Ding dong the witch is dead!”
