Blake Shelton defended his new love, Gwen Stefani, following reports that the opening night of her tour was a bust.
On Wednesday, the 40-year-old country singer took to his Twitter account after a report in the Boston Globe came out that said Stefani had low ticket sales and technical problems with the first show of her “This is What the Truth Feels Like” North American tour in Boston Tuesday night. “That’s right everybody,” Shelton tweeted. “No matter how good your eye site [sic] is @gwenstefani show was ’empty’ last night.”

“Wish I could get that many thousands of people to come see me on a Tuesday night,” he added.

Shelton responded to one tweeter who talked about how ticket sales always drop at the venue before shows. “Yeah, but there’s no story if you mention that part,” he continued.

On Tuesday night the country singer shared a backstage photo from the show.
“Wow..I am a terrible photographer, but this is an epic thing to see,” he tweeted.

Stefani’s tour is the first one she has had in seven years and the first since the end of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale.
