Trump On Ginsburg: ‘Her Mind’s Shot’

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump took to twitter Wednesday to protest Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s critical comments of him in a CNN interview Monday.

“Justice Ginsburg of the U.S. Supreme Court has embarrassed all by making very dumb political statements about me,” Trump tweeted. “Her mind is shot – resign!”

Ginsburg told CNN she didn’t want to think about a successful Trump campaign, adding that Clinton was going to win the general election. Additionally, she joked that she would move to New Zealand if Trump managed to win the nomination.

The CNN interview wasn’t about Trump, but rather about a book the CNN correspondent wrote about Chief Justice John Roberts. Ginsburg chose to break from the questioning to make her comments about Trump.

“He is a faker,” she said. “He has no consistency about him. He says whatever comes into his head at the moment. He really has an ego.” “How has he gotten away with not turning over his tax returns? The press seems to be very gentle with him on that,” Ginsberg asked.

Trump joined a long line of conservatives who condemned Ginsburg’s comments. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said it was “totally inappropriate” for a member of the Supreme Court to comment on a political event, especially a presidential campaign.

“It raises a level of skepticism that the American people have from time to time about just how objective the Supreme Court is, whether they’re over there to call the balls and strikes, or weigh in on one side or another,” McConnell continued.
