Great Britain’s Justin Rose made history Thursday when he sunk a hole-in-one on the first round. It is unknown if an ace was scored by another golfer at the Olympics the last time golf was an official game 112 years ago.

The top golfers withdrew earlier out concerns for personal security, crime, the format and the widespread Zika virus.
