The San Francisco 49ers have released fullback Bruce Miller after he was arrested early Monday morning for an alleged assault on a 70-year-old man and his son at a Marriott in San Francisco.

Miller tried to get a room at the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott on Sunday night, but was told there were none available, KTVU reports. He returned early Monday morning and knocked on a hotel room door “occupied by an elderly couple who did not know Miller.”

The couple’s son, who was in the room next door, told Miller he must have the wrong room. Miller then began attacking the son and when his father defended him, Miller attacked him as well.

Both the father and his 29-year-old son were taken to the hospital, according to KTVU.

Miller was seen by a hotel employee running from the hotel bleeding and vomiting. The employee then called the police. Video surveillance footage shows Miller bleeding outside the hotel.

The now former San Francisco fullback has been previously charged with assault, 2 counts of making criminal threats, and battery, KTVU reports. He was arrested for spousal battery on his then fiancee just last year.
