Election Won’t Come Between Ivanka Trump And Chelsea Clinton

With presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton going at one another’s throat day in and day out, you wouldn’t expect their children to get along.

But Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump won’t turn on each other as their parents campaign against one another for the oval office.

When asked about rumors that her and Ivanka stopped being friends due to the election, Chelsea put them down quickly Friday. “Absolutely not. We were friends long before this election; we will be friends long after this election,” she said in an interview with The View.

The presidential candidates’ daughters struck up a friendship back when their parents were still close. Hillary and Bill Clinton sat in the front-row for Donald and Melania Trump’s wedding in 2005, E! News reminds us.

Chelsea’s comments echoed Ivanka’s take on their friendship, which she shared with People magazine back in July. “We’re both incredibly supportive of our parents, as we should be,” she told People. “But we also continue to have great respect for one another.”

“Our friendship has never been about politics. I don’t expect it will be about politics in the future,” Ivanka continued.

“I have tremendous respect for Ivanka,” Chelsea told The View. “I love her family. She’s a working mom like I am. We have so much more in common than we have disagreement about.”

It seems that the two will continue to get along — so long as their parents don’t try to involve them in their respective campaigns.
