Three robbery suspects led police from multiple jurisdictions on a 35-mile chase before crashing their vehicle in Washington, D.C.

A security guard initially witnessed three masked individuals attempting to break into a Sprint store at the Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, Md., Sunday night. Security called police at roughly 1:30 a.m. EST and witnessed the three suspects feeling the scene in a light-colored vehicle when they arrived. Police from Anne Arundel County, Md., pursued the vehicle, which headed southbound on Interstate 295, reports WUSA9.

Officers with the U.S. Park Police joined Maryland police in the chase after the suspects entered their jurisdiction. The pursuit continued into the District of Columbia, where the suspects crashed their vehicle at 3rd and Bryant Streets in Northeast, D.C.

“Shortly after entering the D.C. limits, the suspect vehicle crashed and all three occupants attempted to run from the vehicle,” Anne Arundel Police said in a statement.

All three suspects ran after crashing their vehicle. Officers quickly arrested two of them. A third suspect was hit by a car while attempting his escape and is currently recovering in a local hospital. Police found a loaded handgun and stolen cellphones near the vehicle, reports WJLA.

The suspects are in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Department, but will be extradited to Anne Arundel County for trials where they face both federal and state charges.
