The New York Post reported Monday afternoon that, “Hillary Clinton was headed to an emergency room following her frightening collapse at the Sept. 11 memorial ceremony — but detoured to daughter Chelsea Clinton’s apartment to keep details of her medical treatment under wraps.”
The segue blatantly violated Secret Service “protocol” that given her medical circumstances the “Democratic presidential nominee to be rushed to a state-designated Level I Trauma Center,” which would have been Bellevue Hospital, across town from the ceremony yet right off the FDR drive on 1st Avenue and easily accessible. But “a campaign operative decided to change course to avoid having Clinton seen by doctors, nurses and other medical workers who could leak details to reporters, according to a source.”
It’s hard to imagine this “operative” would have upended the Secret Service without some kind of encouragement from Clinton herself. Or if the decision was unilateral maybe voters should wonder if the Democratic nominee delegates authority way too broadly.
Even more disturbing the Post, citing another source, says that “Clinton’s van was supposed to be escorted by an NYPD protective detail, but the Secret Service whisked her away from Ground Zero before cops could accompany her.”
And when she arrived at Chelsea’s home wouldn’t it have been prudent to seek some kind of medical attention? Instead of just waiting until she could stand on her own two feet and then decamping to Chappaqua to show everything was now peachy keen?
But how could she know that without going to a doctor first? The Democratic nominee arguably imperiled her own health and misled voters for the sake of a good photo op.
But people say Donald Trump is reckless and can’t be trusted?
