Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton staffers boasted that ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos used campaign talking points to rebut “Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweizer in an April 2015 interview, according to new emails released by WikiLeaks.

The email thread shows delighted communications aides congratulating Stephanopoulos and one another over the anchor’s successful parry with Schweizer. The book argues that the Clintons capitalized on their status and influence after leaving the White House to build a personal fortune.

“great work everyone. this interview is perfect. he lands nothing and everything is refuted (mostly based on our work,)” Jesse Ferguson, a Democratic operative wrote.

“This is amazing. A pleasure to read,” communications director Jennifer Palmieri responded.

“Not to pile on, but this is therapeutic to watch,” press secretary Nick Merrill piled on. “George is cool as a cucumber, doesn’t rush into it, but just destroys him slowly but surely over the course of the interview.” (RELATED: WikiLeaks Shows Hillary’s Coming Out Against Keystone XL Was A Totally Calculated Move)

Stephanopolous himself was a campaign aide for President Bill Clinton, and is a donor to the Clinton Foundation.
