The spokesmen for the Republican Party and Politico got into a tiff on Twitter Thursday night, with Politico spokesman Brad Dayspring saying GOP spokesman Sean Spicer should be embarrassed after this election cycle.

It all started with Politico’s faulty reporting that Donald Trump’s campaign had not transferred any money to the Republican National Committee in October. Trump Victory, the joint fundraising committee, in fact gave $2.2 million to the RNC this month.

Spicer tweeted, “Embarrassing for [Politico] [the article’s author Isaac Arnsdorf]: top of pg 6948 of FEC report filed today shows Trump Victory transfer to [gop]- glad to send a copy.”

In response Dayspring said, “Sean, when we make a mistake, we own it. Hence the correction. Then again, if anyone would know ’embarrassing’ this cycle, it’s you.”

The fight continued with Spicer replying, “actually Brad, you didn’t own it – it took hours to get a story corrected, never mind the failure to check first.”

Dayspring continued to show Politico’s bias against the GOP and said in response, “Sean, that’s the point of the correction. We regret it, it was a mistake. You, on the other hand, have some work to do correcting your own.”(RELATED: Brad Dayspring: Politico’s Worst Hire Ever?)

The Daily Caller has previously reported on how Politico’s chief political correspondent Glenn Thrush emailed his story to Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman for approval. Dayspring refused to respond specifically to questions and quoted Oscar Wilde when confronted by TheDC about Thrush’s practices.
