An “extremely drunken motorist” crashed into two stopped vehicles last Wednesday and blamed the collision on Trump’s presidential victory, according to police.

The St. Paul, Minnesota woman had a blood alcohol content level of .33 percent in a “preliminary breath test” taken “a few hours after the crash,” according to the criminal complaint. That measures over four times the legal limit for driving in the state of Minnesota.

Elizabeth L. Lundberg was charged with “gross-misdemeanor counts of criminal vehicular operation and third-degree driving while intoxicated,” according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. After the crash, through her slurred speech, Lundberg told police she was upset over the outcome of the election and they should let her go home.

Lundberg, who remained in jail until Monday, told the Star Tribune her comments on Trump were sarcastic and said after she asked if those involved in the crash were alright.

Lundberg also admitted that she had been drinking heavily that day but it had nothing to do with Trump being elected. “I did not shed a tear when he was elected,” she told the Tribune. “I’m not really into politics, frankly.”

The St. Paul woman was irritated with the Lino Lakes police who published her comment about the election on their Facebook and Twitter accounts. “I think it’s strange that a police department can tweet something someone said that is so outlandish.”

According to a police incident report, Lundberg told police she had a few beers, but didn’t feel intoxicated. That same officer found an empty vodka bottle in her purse, “which was saturated with the liquor,” according to the Tribune.

Lundberg is scheduled to appear in court in January. She turned 33 during her time in the Anoka County jail.
