A professor at Orange Coast College in California went on an anti-Donald Trump rant in one of her classes and called his election as president “an act of terrorism.” Now the student who took the video is being threatened with legal action by a professor union.

The professor, identified as Olga Perez Stable Cox, was also caught on camera talking about Trump as a “white supremacist” and saying that Vice President-elect Mike Pence was “one of the most anti-gay humans in this country.”

Cox reportedly teaches a human sexuality course. During her rant she also said that America is being “assaulted” by Donald Trump, adding “One of the most frightening things for me, and most people in my life, is that the people who are leading the assault are among us.”

Video of Cox’s comments was caught on a hidden camera and was posted on the Orange Coast College Republicans Facebook wall with the description “Did you know you’re a terrorist for having supported Trump? I didn’t but apparently that’s what they’re teaching in Orange Coast Colleges classrooms post election.”

The video went viral, prompting a professor union to threaten the student who captured the video with legal action.

“This is an illegal recording without the permission of the instructor. The student who is sitting in assigned seating will be identified and may be facing legal action,” the Coast Federation of Educators, AFT Local 1911 wrote on the Facebook page for the Republican group.

Attorney and former chairman of the California GOP Shawn Steel has now stepped in to defend the College Republicans group, filing a complaint with Orange Coast College.

Steel reportedly said, “It’s alarming. It’s scare-mongering. It’s irrational. It’s a rant. And it doesn’t belong in the classroom.”
