President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly going to announce former Koch operative Marc Short will join the administration to head up the legislative affairs office, according to a Monday report from Politico.
Short most recently served as an adviser to Vice President-elect Mike Pence, but also served on Sen. Marco Rubio’s reelection campaign. Short made the rounds in the Koch organization, serving as the executive director for Young Americans for Freedom and as financial director for Freedom Partners, a Koch-backed group.
The position was reportedly already filled by Sessions’ chief of staff Rick Dearborn. Dearborn was upgraded to deputy chief of staff in the Trump administration, clearing the path for Short to take over in the legislative relations department.
