Valerie Jarrett stopped by the debut broadcast of Greta Van Susteren’s new MSNBC show on Monday to explain that though President Obama will soon be leaving the White House, he’s about to step into an even more powerful office.
That of private citizen.
Obama’s senior advisor told Van Susteren that his farewell address is “still a work in progress.”
“He likes to really work on important speeches… up until the last moment,” Jarrett continued. “I think it’s going to be an optimistic speech.”
Jarrett explained that POTUS “still feels that same optimism about our country because of the American people” before stating that Obama “believes in the office of citizenship.”
“He’s been speaking a lot about lately as he steps down as president,” she added, “that he will be assuming the most important office of all, and that’s of citizen.”
