Look Around Your Kitchen. You Could Use More Knives, Especially At This Price

I live my life by a simple rule: You can never have too many knives. This applies to knives of all shapes and functions. Pocket knives, EDCs and, yes, even kitchen knives. I can never think of a time I looked around my kitchen cutlery and thought, “Man, I couldn’t use any more knives.” More knives are always a luxury worth affording.

Perhaps this is why I was so drawn to this deal on a highly-rated 15-piece knife block set. With a 4.6-star rating (meaning 84 percent of customers have given it a perfect 5 out of 5 stars), this set of Calphalon is nothing to scoff at. It is easy to see why it normally goes for $220. In fact, I might’ve even bought it today at that price. Luckily, I don’t have to. Right now, it is over $50 off.

Calphalon Contemporary Self-Sharpening 15-piece Knife Block Set with Sharp-in Technology, Black/Silver on sale for $168.04

One of the best features of blocks like these is the self-sharpening technology. In other words, you are sharpening your knife simply by putting it back in its appropriate slot after you are finished using it.

The set features an 8-inch chef’s knife, an 8-inch bread knife, a 7-inch Santoku knife, a 6-inch utility knife, a 4.5-inch parer, 8 steak knives and kitchen shears. Plus, of course, the maple knife block. There is an additional non-sharpening slot as well. I don’t know about you, but I get excited when I see knives forged with German steel, and that’s just what we have here. What could be better?
