A Ohio National Guard U.S. Army humvee stolen from the units base armory Tuesday was recovered in a vacant house’s garage Friday, the Associated Press reports.

The humvee was stolen overnight by thieves who cut a chain link fence and somehow breached the vehicles locking mechanisms. Police and local authorities heavily publicized the theft, which prompted a series of tips from motorists as to the humvee’s location.

Ohio state troopers followed these tips to a vacant house garage in a nearby county, but have not made any arrests.

“It’s pretty bold for someone to break into a government facility,” Sgt. Adam Doles, Post 18 Assistant Post Commander told local media. He continued, “I have not seen this in my career.”
