Sean Spicer said Donald Trump was kidding around when he said that health care was “an easy one.”

When the press secretary was asked about the remark at the briefing Wednesday, he said the president was being “lighthearted.”

“I would ask that you respectfully review the tape,” Spicer said. “He was having a lighthearted moment. It’s on tape — everybody watched it. He was poking fun and making a joke. There have been comments before about how he didn’t get it. He was joking about how easy it was. It was a lighthearted moment.”

Trump made the comment during a reception for senators and their wives at the White House Tuesday night.

“I know that we are all going to make a deal on health care. That’s such an easy one. I have no doubt that that’s going to happen very quickly. We have all been promising it — Democrat, Republican — to the public.”
