RT ran a piece Friday titled, “Forget the ‘Mother of all bombs,’ meet the Russian-made ‘Daddy,'” in direct response to President Trump’s Thursday airstrike in Afghanistan.
The U.S. strike featured the combat debut of the 20,000+ pound GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, yet RT doesn’t want you to “be fooled.”
“Russia possess [sic] something far superior,” the lede of what more or less amounts to a Kremlin press release reads. “Kids, meet Daddy.”
“The Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power, known as the ‘Father of all bombs’ (FOAB), was developed by Russia in 2007 and eclipses its US rival in both power and efficiency.”
Fox host: Dropping MOAB is “what freedom looks like, that’s the red, white, and blue.”

RT goes on to claim that not only is the FOAB “less hefty” than the MOAB, it’s also CHEAPER and GOD DAMN ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY.
“Its effectiveness and capabilities are comparable to nuclear weapons,” deputy chief of the Russian armed forces Alexander Rukshin — who sounds like a totally reliable source — claimed. “At the same time use of this weapon does not damage or pollute the environment, like a [sic] nuclear weapons.”
The piece closes with a direct shot at the Trump administration, noting that though the FOAB could totally kick the MOAB’s ass, “Russia has never felt the need to use it.”
