Sen. Dianne Feinstein just praised President Trump’s ability to deal with Vladimir Putin on Russian election hacking.
During a Thursday afternoon MSNBC interview, host Andrea Mitchell asked Feinstein if FBI Director James Comey’s testimony about Russian hacking concerned her.
“It is diabolical, it can be comprehensive, they are very good at it, and they use it in a very Machiavellian way,” the senator from California declared.
However, she then took her answer in a rather unexpected direction.
“Having said that, this is something that I actually believe that President Trump might be able to deal with President Putin well on,” she said. “Because he’s basic. I mean, he’s going to say what he thinks.”
“I think coming from Trump, who many thought would be an ally of Putin…this might be helpful,” she concluded.
