A prominent #NeverTrump conspiracy theorist said to “make no assumptions” about the London terror attack Saturday and then proceeded to blame the attack on Vladimir Putin.
“Make no assumptions as to who caused [the terror attack],” tweeted Louise Mensch, an independent journalist, on Saturday night. Less than half an hour later, she said “We know [Putin] funds ISIS, Al Qaeda, and Assad. We hold him responsible.”
Mensch defended Muslims on Twitter Saturday evening, appearing to attribute the blame to Putin rather than Islam.
Mensch previously helped establish Heat Street, a libertarian news and commentary site which is a subsidiary of News Corporation. A harsh critic of President Trump, Mensch appeared in John Podesta’s emails suggesting a campaign ad for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election, according to Politico.
The journalist and her coworker Claude Taylor claimed in May that the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court had issued an indictment against Trump to form the groundwork for the president’s impeachment, according to Observer. But these courts do not issue indictments.
Mensch has previously blamed Russia or Putin, frequently without evidence, for incidents such as the terrorist bombing of a bus ridden by a German soccer team and the death of Andrew Breitbart. (RELATED: Liberals Turn To Never Trump Conspiracy Theorist To Push Trump-Russia Narrative)
“I did serious drugs and it messed with my head,” said Mensch on BBC Question Time in 2012. “It’s had long-term mental health effects on me. It’s caused me to be more anxious than I need to be.”
