Police took a second person of interest into custody Thursday in the case of last week’s quadruple murder on a Pennsylvania farm.

Cosmo DiNardo, 20, who suffers from schizophrenia, confessed Thursday to killing and burying the four men on his family’s farm. He is expected to plead guilty to four counts of first-degree murder at his next court appearance in exchange for not receiving the death penalty, Fox News reported Friday.

DiNardo, who was arrested Wednesday after trying to sell a victim’s car July 9, reportedly named a co-conspirator involved in three of the killings during his confession, who was then taken into custody Thursday, the Associated Press reported.

The victims, 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro, 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, 21-year-old Tom Meo and 19-year-old Jimi Tar Patrick, all went missing last week and were reportedly killed in the course of buying marijuana from DiNardo. He confessed to killing them after feeling threatened in three drug transactions, telling authorities he then burned and buried the bodies.

Police say that, out of the remains found in a 12-foot grave on DiNardo’s farm, they’ve only been able to identify Finocchiaro. They are still digging in search of further remains.

FBI investigators are using machinery to dig out an area identified by cadaver dogs on a 90-acre farm.

“I don’t understand the science behind it, but those dogs could smell these poor boys 12½ feet below the ground,” Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub told Fox News.
