Johnny Manziel is closer than ever to his NFL comeback.

The former Texas A&M quarterback was in Dallas Saturday for the National Fantasy Football Convention, and he essentially told the media that he could be back to the NFL at anytime. He told the local media that he has already been in contact with a couple teams about a comeback.

According to Dallas News reporter Jon Machota, Manziel said:

I think the thing I realized over the past year and the thing I realized from being away from it is really how much you miss it. That’s all I’ve known for so long. It’s what I love to do. It’s hard. It’s hard sitting here going through OTA time and going through summer time and then getting ready to go through fall camp and not being part of it. But at the same time, I’m really optimistic and hopeful that I’ll get another chance. That’s really what I’m holding out for every day.

There would be nothing more entertaining for the NFL right now than Johnny Football putting the pads back on and getting in the swing of things on Sundays in the Fall.

Has the electric dual-threat quarterback had his problems off of the field in the past? Without a doubt, but it seems like that’s long behind him. Now is the time for the Heisman winner to remind the world of why we all fell in love with him.

It’s time for Manziel to return and just go out there on the field and game. It’s what the NFL needs.
