Seattle protesters clashed with law enforcement officers as two groups of activists marched against each other Sunday afternoon.

Protesters with the “Solidarity Against Hate” march took to the streets to counter-protest the “Freedom Rally,” a pro-Trump march hosted by the Patriot Prayer group, reports King 5.

Police officers lined the street to try and keep the protesters contained which caused some of the protesters to get physical with Seattle police officers. Officers were forced to deploy “blast ball” and “pepper spray” to keep the two protest groups apart from each other.

WATCH:

The “Freedom Rally” march, planned in advance of the violent riots in Charlottesville, Va., was set to protest the “communist ideologies” infecting the West Coast while the anti-fascist “Solidarity Against Hate” came out to protect those who would be “targeted by the far-right.”

“We will be shoulder-to-shoulder with all in our community who are targeted by the far-right in a unified, orderly and strong counterprotest,” the event’s page read.

At one point during the protest, the “Solidarity Against Hate” protesters sprayed police officers with silly string and glitter.

Police arrested a few protesters and ended up taking away metal bars and boards from some of the protesters.
