Islamic State has claimed responsibility for Friday’s explosion at a London subway station.

The terror group claimed responsibility through several channels linked to ISIS, the Associated Press reports. The attack injured dozens at the Parsons Green station, and ISIS claims it was carried out by an affiliated unit.

Police believe the bomb was placed in a trashcan inside a train and then detonated through a timer. A manhunt is underway for the person who placed the bomb and British Prime Minister Theresa May increased the terror threat from severe to critical, meaning an attack is expected imminently.

“The public will see more armed police on the transport network and on our streets, providing extra protection,” May told BBC. “This is a proportionate and sensible step which will provide extra reassurance and protection while the investigation progresses.”

Parts of the device failed to detonate. At least 29 people were injured but none of them are in critical condition.

The incident is the third major attack to hit London this year. Five people were killed after Khalid Masood, 52, drove a car into pedestrians March 22 on Westminster Bridge. He subsequently stabbed an officer as he attempted to enter the parliament building. A similar attack took place June 3 after three men rammed down pedestrians on London Bridge and went on a stabbing rampage in the area. Ten victims were killed and dozens were injured.
