Defense Secretary James Mattis is the most popular member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, according to a poll released Wednesday.

Out of Trump’s cabinet, Mattis had the highest approval rating, at 40 percent with only 20 percent who disapproved of the job he is doing at the Department of Defense, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll.

Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly are the only members with positive approval ratings compared to negative. Kelly had a 39 percent approval rating, while 22 percent disapprove of the job he’s doing.

Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos had the worst approval rating according to the poll, at 28 percent, while 40 percent of Americans disapprove of the job she’s doing at the Department of Education.

Mattis’ high approval rating comes as he said the U.S. did not want war with North Korea. Mattis said Tuesday that the goal is to keep the North Korean crisis “as long as possible in the diplomatic realm.” He stressed that America and its allies and partners need to find a way to “solve this diplomatically.” (RELATED: Mattis Says US Will Avoid War With North Korea ‘As Long As Possible’)

There was no available information about the poll’s sample size or margin of error.
