Sebastian Giovinco chugging a beer after his teammate’s goal on Sunday proves that the MLS is a whole lot cooler than the NFL when it comes to celebrating.
Toronto FC tied Atlanta United 2-2 on Sunday, but Giovinco made sure that Toronto won the goal celebrations.
Jozy Altidore scores, tries to head a beer thrown at him, Giovinco picks up the beer and drinks out of it. Amazing https://t.co/lM8l0sYPJU

American soccer star Jozy Altidore scored Toronto’s first goal at about the 60-minute mark to tie the game at 1-1. While he and Giovinco celebrated on the baseline, a fan threw a beer at the two of them, which Giovinco promptly picked up and emptied into his mouth.
Although I would’ve liked to see Altidore down that beer, I have to hand it to Giovinco turning a disrespectful throwing of a beer from an opposing fan to a badass goal celebration. If it were the fun-sucking NFL they would have thrown him out of the game, but the MLS allowed Giovinco to keep playing and he later delivered a game-tying free kick off the top post and into the goal.

Atlanta might have snuck away with a win if that fan hadn’t thrown his nearly-empty beer on the field. It seems it was just what Giovinco needed to close the gap.
