Some of you reading this may be scouring the Internet considering the options available to you to kick your smoking habit. If you are new to this, you will want to read further. This is what I’ve learned though my own “kicking of the habit” to the trial and error of finding a product that would be suitable and ensure success.

The first and most important thing to consider is how many cigarettes a day you smoke. If you are what I consider a regular smoker, you probably smoke a pack a day. For those in the “Regular Smoker” category there are options that you should stay away from.

Vape “cigarettes” (or “cigalikes”) which can be purchased at convenience stores and are roughly the size of a traditional cigarette are not likely to satisfy you urge. Not only are they costly (around $10), they are very temporary and disposable. In nearly all instances the nicotine levels and the amount of vapor produced is minimal. In general, to put the battery life on one of these devices into perspective, you could take a puff for twenty to thirty minutes on a fully charged device and it would be completely dead.

Don’t box yourself into one brand. E-cigarettes and disposable devices often will have a proprietary charger and cartridges that can only be used on their devices. You also are limited to the flavors and nicotine level that they offer. While these devices certainly have a place in the vaping world, they are more suitable for those that smoke one to two cigarettes daily or just for those that only indulge when they are having a rough day.

Do get a device where you can easily switch the type of e-liquid. In all “mods,” you have the ability to choose from tens of thousands of different e-liquids. Not only do you have the freedom to choose any substance you would like to, mods have a vastly greater battery life. And with battery life comes the ability to heat the oil to the point where you will get a large plume of vapor and the level of nicotine you desire.

If you are a regular smoker like I was and trying to kick the habit, consider the suggestions above to increase your chances of quitting for good and save a boatload of money along the way.
