New Yorkers took to the streets Wednesday night, holding signs bashing President Donald Trump and screaming at the top of their lungs to protest the one-year anniversary of his election.
The protesters chanted about racism, Charlottesville, fascism and white supremacy at the event, organized by RefuseFascism.org, before beginning to scream at 10:30 p.m. “We are persevering with the truth and morality on our side,” the crowed chanted. Their signs depicted slogans like “WTF,” “The Trump Pence Regime Must End,” “Danger Ahead” and “Hoax.”
“The whole regime is a fascist regime,” one woman said. “Right now Trump is stomping all around Asia.” She believes that the administration is targeting immigrants and minorities, resurrecting and upholding white supremacy, demonizing Muslims, destroying women’s rights, and threatening a holocaust against North Korea.
“Where are the facts?” another man asked, who wasn’t there to participate in the screaming. “All we get are allegations after allegations of collusion. The ones who claim Russian collusion are actually the ones who freakin colluded … Hillary Clinton, the most wicked woman who ever ran in politics … she’s the colluder!”

“We’re coming here to laugh at people screeching,” said a bystander sporting a “Make America Great Again” hat.
