Minnesota Democratic Sen. Al Franken, who now stands accused of sexual assault, has made a series of statements calling for people to support sexual assault survivors.

A morning news anchor for a Los Angeles radio station accused Franken of groping her breasts while she was sleeping and pressuring her into kissing him while they were traveling to a military base to perform for the troops.

Franken has previously and repeatedly called for a crack down on sexual assault in the military, and called for others to support assault victims.

“I’m pleased we made steps to curb military sexual assault today, but I hope we can go further to bring justice to those affected,” Franken tweeted out in 2014.

“Sexual harassment and violence are unacceptable. We all must do our part to listen, stand with, and support survivors,” Franken noted in a Oct. 23 tweet.

In another tweet, Franken pledged to continue “fighting for the rights” of those who have experienced sexual violence.

“I’ll work hard to get this bill passed into law and continue fighting for the rights of sexual violence survivors,” Franken tweeted in October.
