It looks like the Washington Redskins aren’t too keen on Color Rush Thursdays.
They’re piping up against their assigned mustard yellow uniforms, saying they refuse to wear the “garish uniforms” for tonight’s game.
In case we don’t get to see it in action tonight, here’s the uniform the team is expected to wear:

Back in 2016 when the uniforms were unveiled, the Redskins actually submitted an appeal that would allow them to opt out of the awful getups.

Some insiders have hinted that the squad’s gonna opt for a burgundy on burgundy look instead.
According to @thecooleyzone, #Redskins will go Burgundy on Burgundy against Dallas.

This is a pretty big deal because today is the Redskins’ first Color Rush debut. In 2015, the experiment was only tested on eight teams. And last season, the Redskins didn’t have a Thursday game (except Thanksgiving, which doesn’t do Color Rush).
It’s also a pretty big deal because Nike is paying the NFL $1.1 billion – yes, billion with a B – to wear their colorful gear.
But this isn’t just a big deal. It’s also downright hysterical. Anthem protests are one thing. But if Goodell has lost so much control of the league that he can’t even get a 5-6 team to put on a colorful uniform, he might want to consider switching occupations. Or moving out of the country.
