Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had some choice words for Iran’s wrestling team this morning.

Late last month, an Iranian wrestling coach ordered his wrestler Ali Reza Karimi to throw the U-23 World Championships so he wouldn’t have to compete against an Israeli in the next round. It was all caught on tape, sparking international outrage.

Karimi, in blue, clearly surrenders to his Russian opponent Alikhan Zhabrilov, throwing his chance to advance to the next round against Uri Kalashnikov – the Israeli wrestler.

Israel’s Prime Minister stated, “Just imagine, a government forbidding its athletes from competing against blacks, gays or Arabs.”

He offered some pretty sharp words for the country from his office this morning.

“The Iranian regime would rather see its athletes lose than compete against Israelis,” Netanyahu said. He urged his viewers to go out and compete against athletes of a different nationality, faith, or color and post it to social media, to promote “the kind of coexistence and tolerance Iran tries so hard to stamp out.”

“I want you to show Iran that hating others will never make you a champion. It only makes you a pathetic and insecure loser,” he concluded.

It sounds like Netanyahu and Trump are reading from the same political playbook.
