Hannibal Buress was arrested for disorderly intoxication in Miami late Sunday night, but he didn’t let the police haul him away without talking back and causing a scene in front of a small crowd that gathered on the sidewalk.

The stand-up comedian was arrested on disorderly conduct on 10:30 p.m., but didn’t seem to think he’d done anything wrong as he was handcuffed, leaning against the squad car, Page Six reports.

“What am I detained for? Explain what I am detained for,” Buress shouted at the two police officers, in a video posted to YouTube. “You don’t have probable cause for anything and you look hella stupid right now,” Buress taunted police. “You know y’all are goofy as f**k.”

After several onlookers noticed the “Broad City” actor was the one being booked, they chimed in from the sidewalk.

“Yo, don’t hurt my man,” one person shouted. “Free Hannibal Buress,” another added.

The 34-year-old comedian was eventually taken to the Miami-Dade jail at around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning where he was booked and later released after posting bail.

Buress is well known in the comedy industry and has been credited, in part, for taking down Bill Cosby. A bit he did in 2014 renewed interest into previous allegations against the “Cosby Show” star. Cosby’s first trial facing allegations of drugging and raping women resulted in a mistrial. He is scheduled for a retrial in April of next year.
