Things got heated on “The View” Friday when Meghan McCain lit into her co-hosts for speculating about President Trump’s mental state.

It happened during a panel discussion about Michael Wolff’s book, “Fire And Fury: Inside The Trump White House,” when Joy Behar shared that she’s convinced that the book is accurate, especially regarding claims about Trump’s mental health possibly slipping. “I have said from the beginning, I think he [Trump] has short-term memory loss,” Behar announced. “He says it and the next minute he says it again.”

“How often do a lot of us do that. I have short-term memory loss,” Paula Faris responded.

“You don’t understand what it is if you say that,” Behar explained. “What it is, I say to you, ‘do you like my jacket, it’s really cute, I bought it at Bergdorf.’ Then you say something. I go, ‘do you like my jacket, it is really cute. I bought it at Bergdorf.’ That’s what short-term memory loss is.”

“So do any of us have a medical degree though? I mean, we’re not doctors,” Meghan McCain interjected.

“I don’t need a medical degree for what I just said,” Behar snapped back.

“You’re diagnosing. This is another ethically ambiguous area, self diagnosing,” McCain reminded them. “We’re not doctors. And again, there’s a lot of bigger problems than proverbial proof about things that are going on. And diagnosing out president’s mental health.”

“We’re not diagnosing,” Behar snapped back.

“We’re not doctors. We are talk show hosts,” McCain responded.

“If this is true, I don’t think it’s a stretch when you know the facts that his father had Alzheimer’s for six years and then died,” Sunny Hostin shared. “And that’s one of the problems that we have in terms of the review of our presidents. The president is not mandated to have a medical exam.”

Behar then cut off the discussion and threw to a break.
