A Pennsylvania police chief is now facing sexual offense charges after he allegedly tried to meet up with a 14-year-old girl who turned out to be an undercover agent.
Officers nabbed Leechburg Police Chief Michael W. Diebold on Friday when he showed up allegedly under the pretense of meeting a young girl for sex the Associated Press reports. Officials claim Diebold sent explicit sexual texts to a number he believed belonged to 14-year-old girl in the hopes of having sex with her.
The girl turned out to be a federal agent posing as a teenager and state prosecutors arrested and charged Diebold with unlawful contact with a minor and criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
Diebold, 40, had reportedly posted an ad saying he was a “dom male” looking for a “female sub for ongoing play sessions.” When a federal agent, posing as a 14 year-old teen girl, responded, Diebold remained un-bothered by the fact that the girl was underage, according to investigators.
“…everyone has to have a first time,” the officer allegedly said in one of the sexually explicit text messages exchanged. “… you will just have to get me naked tomorrow.” Daniel Block, the federal agent who pretended to be the teen, noted in the complaint that Diebold continued to pursue him despite repeatedly being told that she was only 14.
“… what are you wearing right now, proof that you are serious would be a bra and panty pic right now,” Diebold allegedly wrote in one text.
Diebold, who lost part of his arm in a firework accident last year, is being held on $50,000 bail.
