A new National Geographic documentary series titled “Chain of Command” captures on-the-ground footage to the U.S. military’s commitment to fighting international extremism.

The series captures footage from Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Africa and the Caribbean from 2016 to 2017. A sneak peek obtained by The Daily Caller goes behind the scenes of President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s visit to the Middle East with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford in 2017.

Kushner, senior adviser to the president, served in a diplomatic role during the trip to Iraq, despite his scant foreign policy experience.

Mosul is Iraq’s second largest city and has been the target of heavy fighting between Iraqi forces and ISIS. Kushner arrived in Iraq after Iraqi forces had successfully overcome a wave of ISIS offensives. The city had been controlled by ISIS since summer of 2014.
