President Donald Trump castigated the media during a question and answer session following his address to the World Economic Forum in Davos Friday.

“It wasn’t until I became a politician that I realized how nasty, how mean, how vicious, and how fake the press can be, as the cameras start going off in the back,” Trump said to boos from the crowd.

Trump’s comments came as he was explaining how his relationship with the media was sullied by his entrance into politics; he insisted he received favorable press during his long career as a New York real estate developer.

The address in Davos focused on a tempered “America First” message as Trump highlighted American economic success before emphasizing that what is good for America economically is good for the world.

“I believe in America. As president of The United States I will always put America First,” Trump said to the crowd of world leaders and business icons. “Just like the leaders of other countries should put their country first also. But America first does not mean American alone.”
